Abstract The tradition of tafsir (Qur'anic exegesis) dates back to 7th century AD. This tafsir was initiated last century in the Islamic Republic of Iran. A group of established Muslim scholars from the Islamic Centre for Scientific Research working under Ayatollah Allamah Al-Hajj Sayyid Kamal Faqih Imani began working on the full compilation of Qur'anic exegesis and commentary in 1991, which was followed by the translation of the work into various languages.
