Active co-operation with the independent Russian-Arab Cultural Center in Saint Petersburg enabled the Islamic Culture Research Foundation to begin its work on some unique projects. For the first time the Russian reader will be presented with the complete and unique collection called "Islamic Holy Cities in the writings of Russian travelers and delegates till the beginning of 20th century", which is based on historical sources obtained from various libraries around the world. The materials included in this collection will be accompanied with detailed commentaries and illustrations. This work will present some of the rarest memoirs of Russian travelers and delegates, that mention holy places in Islam, such as Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem, Karbala, Najaf, and Qum. This work doesn't only show the lack of bias and the understanding of Muslim culture and everyday life, but also reveals to its reader the manysideness that spiritual heritage of Islam - the world monotheistic religion - has.
