
The Islamic Culture Research Foundation with active participation of the Institute of Philosophy RAS [Russian Academy of Science] carries on its work on a series called "Philosophical Thought of the Islamic World". So in the nearest future a translation of contemporary Muslim Philosopher Dr Hussein Nasr's book will come out. In this work called: 'Sadr al-Din Shirazi and his transcendental theosophy' the author goes into details about one of the greatest Muslim philosophers- mystics in the last 4 centuries, who managed to synthesize the ideas of neo-Platonists, peripatetics, Sufi and Muslim theologians. Dr Nasr elaborates on a concept of 'transcendental theosophy' (al-hikmah al-muta'aliya) through the prism of this great Muslim mystic's views and ideas, the author also discusses the influence of Shirazi's metaphysical views and their integration into the system of Islamic philosophy as a whole.
