21.06.2021

The Ibn Sina Foundation and the Sadra publishing house took part in the Red Square Book Festival for the 6thtime. This year the Festival was postponed, but it finally happened despite all the difficulties caused by the epidemiological situation in Moscow. The event took place on 17-20 June at the Moscow Red Square.

The Sadra publishing house did not present the whole range of its products, focusing on the new items published in 2020-2021 instead. The visitors expressed great interest in our works on Sufism. The most popular books included "The Man of Light in Iranian Sufism" by Henri Corbin (2021) and "The Works of Imam al-Ghazali" by A. Hismatulin (2nd edition, 2021). There was also a high demand for children's stories from the "Shekarestan" collection ("The Persian Stories" series).

On June 18 the Publishers Association of Russia conducted the contest "Best Books of the Year 2020" in various categories within the framework of the Festival. Based on the results of the contest, two books of the Sadra publishing house received the following awards:

1) “The world of meaning in few words. Mahmud Shabestari’s philosophical views in the context of the times” (A. A. Lukashev)  - as "Best Spiritual, historical and religious book";

2) "Sudabe and Siyavush" (M. R. Yousefi, translated by J. Mirzoev) - as "Best Book for Children and Youth".

Apart from that, Hamid-Reza Kelichani's "Iranian Calligraphy" was recognized as the best book promoting national culture.
