Ibn Sina Foundation and RAS Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences honoured the memory of Mais Nazarli

On November 30, 2021, an evening in memory of the art historian Mais Nazarli (1961-2020), was held in the Grand Conference Hall of the RAS Institute of Philosophy.

The event opened with a display of works by the artist and architect E. Khailov, a close friend of M. Nazarli. The exhibition was dedicated to the three Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Khailov's works represent a synthesis of Islamic painting and installation. The themes of certain works stem from conversations with Mais Nazarli and express the ideas of the intertwining of religions and the single purpose of their revelation.

The speaker who shared their memories about Mais Nazarli included: A. V. Smirnov, RAS academician, acting director of RAS Institute of Philosophy; M. Bolhasani, international development manager of the Ibn Sina Foundation on behalf of H. Hadavimogaddam, president of the Foundation; T. M. Jani-Zade, associate professor of the music history department of the Gnesin Russian Academy of Music; T.Kh. Starodub, leading researcher of the Department of Foreign Art at the Research Institute of Theory and History of Fine Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts; V.A. Daragan, executive secretary of the "Science and Religion" magazine; G.B. Shamili, leading researcher of the music theory sector of the State Institute of Art Studies of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The event was moderated by Mr. A. Lukashev, research director of the Ibn Sina Foundation, senior research associate of the RAS Institute of Philosophy.

At the end of the event the guests watched Emir Valinejad's documentary "Tochka" (The Dot) with the participation of Mais Nazarli.
