Emir Valinejad’s "Dot" movie, which was shot with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation, passed the final round of the 21st Laurel Branch-2020 National Award for nonfiction films and television in the category "Best popular scientific educational film (named after Lev Nikolayev)".

The jury watched more than 600 films in the first round, including films shot in Russia, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland, France, Ukraine and other countries.

In the second round the shortlisting panel consisting of 50 representatives of the Russian documentary filmmaking voted for the best film out of eight in each nomination. After the vote an independent audit company summed up the results and disclosed the top three finalists to the management. The members of the shortlisting panel voted anonymously.

The winner will be announced at the award ceremony "Laurel branch"-2020, which will take place on December 10 in the Karo 11 Oktyabr movie theatre.
