On July 18, 2021 Alexey Khismatulin from Russia was awarded one of four prizes in the field of Islamic studies at the closing ceremony of the 12th Farabi International Festival.

A.A. Khismatulin is a senior researcher at the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. in History, and a long-time friend and partner of the Ibn Sina Foundation. The Ibn Sina Foundation has published and supported two of his works, "Siyasat-nama / Siyar al-Muluk" ("The Book of Government”/”The Lives of Kings") and "The Works of Imam al-Ghazali”.

"Siyasat-nama/Siyar al-Mulūk (The Book of Government”/”The Lives of Kings") is a classic text known to every Iranian scholar. This book is devoted to the traditions of government, statehood, and the ethics of kings. The author conducted his research to distinguish betweeт the original texts and the compiled fake texts attributed to Nizam al-Mulk.

"The Works of Imam al-Ghazali" is another book that also deals with the manuscripts — both original and fake — attributed to Muhammad al-Ghazali.

The purpose of these two works is to present valuable Islamic and Persian manuscripts to the Russian-speaking audience and to separate the fake and original texts, which was done skillfully by A. Khismatulin.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 12th Farabi International Festival on the Humanities and Islamic Studies was held both offline and online, according to IRNA News Agency. A total of 4,458 Iranian and 281 foreign works were submitted for the competition. According to the results of the festival, 27 awards were granted to local and foreign authors.
