This exegesis was initiated by a group of recognized Muslim scholars from the Islamic Centre for Scientific Research of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In 1991, led by the ayatollah Kamal Fakih Imani, the scholars started preparing a complete set including exegesis and commentaries for the Qur’an, and then translating this set to different languages. The exegesis consists of 12 volumes.

The Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation was established in 2007. It brings together the members of the academic and student community involved in studying different aspects of Islamic culture, science and philosophy.
