Abstract
The book written by the recognized scholar S.H.Nasra presents neither the history of Islamic art, nor its analysis. It is rather an essay on philosophy of Islamic art. Without any doubt, the book will be interesting for a wide range of readers wishing to know more about modern art challenges.
In order to facilitate understanding, proper names and Arabic and Farsi terms are transliterated in a way that is typical for Russia and familiar to readers.
All quotes from the Qur’an are given in the translation of I.V.Porokhova.
