Abstract
This is the first Russian edition of the seminal work on Islamic art written by the professor Oleg Grabar. The work presents a new view on the history of art of the Islamic world, different from the Europocentric one. Oleg Grabar’s objective was to find out how the art was perceived by its creators and work givers.
