Abstract
The modern history of Iran is the history of challenges and upheavals. During this time Iran witnessed two revolutions, deposition of two monarchical dynasties, collapse of the monarchical regime, and transformation into an Islamic republic that became one of the few genuinely Islamic states in the world. The Iranian intellectuals was sensitive to the time’s challenges, which resulted in an uprise of various social and philosophical currents of thought. This book provides a description of intellectual movements in the modern history of Iran.
