This books tells us how a meaning is formed in the Arab and Muslim culture. It is illustrated with the example of the “harf”, which developed in the Arab linguistic tradition since the 8th century. It is demonstrated that the “harf” can not be accurately interpreted using the European linguistic categories, such as phonemes, vowels, consonants, letters etc. The author suggests reconsidering the idea of universal scientific truths and their correlation to reality in the context of the “events-and-things” metaphysics.
