Today, in the interview given to the YATV Channel the President of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation, Hamid Hadavimogaddam, said: “The development of academic cooperation between Russia and Iran is of continued importance, and the international conference, which took place on 5-6 October in the RAS Institute of Philosophy, is a plain evidence of that”.
Hamid Hadavimogaddam noted that “on the one hand, historical and philosophical Islamic studies in Russia are globally recognized; on the other hand, Iran places a priority on developing and promoting Islamic knowledge, which creates a potential for productive cooperation between Russian and Iranian scholars in the area of Islamic research”.
On 5-6 October 2017 the international conference “Revolution and evolution in Islamic thought and history” took place in the RAS Institute of Philosophy (Moscow) with contributions from the Iranian Institute of Philosophy (Tehran). The academic forum attended by the directors of the Russian and Iranian institutes of philosophy brought together leading experts in Islamic studies from Russia and Iran. The conference’s objective was to analyse the changes that happened in Islamic thought and culture throughout the entire history of Islam’s existence in terms of their revolutionary or evolutionary nature, without limitation to philosophical issues. Such recognized scholars as A. Smirnov, G. Aavani, A. Hosrowpanah, N. Prigarina, M. Stepanyaynts, M. Reysner, T. Starodub, F. Nofal, D. Mikulskiy, K.
