On 25 February, the interregional research and practice conference “Bigiev readings” took place in the Moscow Islamic Institute. Scholars from Kazan, Moscow and Amsterdam discussed the personality and works of Musa Jarullah Bigiev, as well as the question of his legacy in the Islamic culture.
During the conference, the Ibn Sina Foundation presented its activities over the last 10 years. Andrey Lukashev, research director of the Ibn Sina Foundation, described the Foundations’ development strategy and main activity areas, and presented new books issued by the Sadra publishing house.
The “Bigiev readings” conference is regularly conducted in the MII. This year it was attended by such scholars and academics as I. Alekseyev, D. Garayev, A. Lukashev, A. Khayrutdinov, V. Schmidt and others. The participants conducted panel discussions where they spoke about the relevance of Islamic legacy and the role of Islamic educators in the development of Islam in Russia.
