“Mulla Sadra: Life and Philosophy” is a relatively short work by Prof. Seyed Salman Safavi, a famous Iranian author, president of the London Academy of Iranian studies, practicing Sufi and editor-in-chief of the “Transcendental Philosophy” magazine. The work is dedicated to the great Safavid thinker Mulla Sadra (1571-1636). The author describes his main works and ideas and analyses the basic concepts of his religious and philosophical teaching.
“Mulla Sadra: Life and Philosophy” is the 9th edition of the “Islam: Classics and Modernity” series prepared by the Sadra publishing house with the assistance of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, the London Academy of Iranian Studies and the Ibn Sina Foundation.
This book is not the only Seyed Salman Safavi’s work known to the Russian readers. In 2013 the Sadra publishing house published the book entitled “Practical Mysticism. Irfan-i ‘Amali”, which was reprinted in 2017.
Seyed Salman Safavi visited Moscow several times and delivered a speech at the 4th All-Russian academic and practical conference “Shigabutdin Mardjani Readings” in 2019. He also gave lectures to the students of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
