Presentation on the Ibn Sina Foundation’s activities held in Nalchik

On July 19, 2021 a presentation on the Ibn Sina Foundation’s activities and a screening of the documentary film “Tochka” (The Dot) were held in the frame of the conference “Methodological aspects of Non-Experimental Sciences and Indian Philosophy”.

Andrey Lukashev, research director of the Ibn Sina Foundation, presented the main activities of the Foundation, namely cooperation with academic centres, book publishing, organization of events and creation of media content.

The presentation coincided with the tragic news about M.M. Al-Janabi passing away, and Andrey Lukashev showed an excerpt from an interview with Matem Mohamed Taha containing a message to young Orientalists.

“Tochka” is dedicated to Islamic calligraphy and has received two awards: the 21st Laurel Branch Award in the “Best Popular Science/Educational Film category” and the VIVA 2020 Award, where it was given the 3rd prize in the “Religion” category.

The Ibn Sina Foundation organizes closed screenings of the film “Tochka” at various venues: Marjani readings, RAS Institute of Oriental studies, the Museum of Islamic Culture (Kazan) and others.

A video recording of the presentation is available here.
