A Persian textbook for the second-year students — “The Modern Iran: Song Culture”— is out of print. The book was prepared by Irina Abramenko, visiting lecturer of the Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies at the Higher School of Economics, and was published with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation.
The textbook “The Modern Iran: Song Culture” contains 13 of the most popular Persian songs of the 20th century that might be interesting from a historical or linguistic point of view. The book allows the beginner students to enrich their vocabulary and to improve the basic knowledge of the language. It can also expand their horizons, contribute to developing their linguistic and cultural skills and help them get a better feel of the Iranian culture.
