“Ibn Khaldun in the Ottoman Historiography” declared the best monograph of the RAS Institute of Philosophy in 2022

The Expert Council of the RAS Institute of Philosophy decided to grant the book “Ibn Khaldun in the Ottoman Historiography” written by I.R.Nasyrov the 1st prize in the “Individual Monograph” category in the Best Book contest for 2022.

The edition was prepared in collaboration with the RAS Institute of Philosophy and published at the end of 2021 with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation. I.R. Nasyrov’s monograph is dedicated to the reception of the society theory proposed by the Arab historian Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) in the Ottoman historiographical thought. The authors examines the views of prominent representatives of this school of Muslim historiography on society and state, as well as their concepts regarding historical development of the society based on the key tenets of Ibn Khaldun’s teachings.

Earlier, in 2021, A. A. Lukashev’s monograph ” The World of Meanings in Few Words: Mahmud Shabestari’s philosophical views in the context of the times” won the same contest of the RAS Institute of Philosophy.

Both books were published in the series “Philosophical Thought of the Islamic World”, which was established in 2009 by the Ibn Sina Foundation and the RAS Institute of Philosophy.
