Stanislav Prozorov dedicated half a century to academic Islamic studies. Having provided a brilliant translation of «Shi’a sects» by al-Hasan al-Nawbakhti, he ushered in a new era in the history of modern Islamic knowledge. Stanislav Prozorov has been a recognized scholar in his field ever since. He provided mentorship to numerous Orientalists who preserve and enhance his invaluable contribution to Arabic studies.
When we established the Islamic Culture Research Foundation back in 2007, we relied on his help and his vision of Orientalism in the 21st century. Today, as we are celebrating the 16th anniversary of our cooperation and the 85th birthday of our respectable colleague and mentor, we express our deepest gratitude for this journey. We hope that our cooperation will continue and that we will keep the right to familiarize Russian readers with Stanislav Prozorov’s works before anyone else.
