On 26 May, a book donation ceremony was held at the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The books were donated by the Ibn Sina Foundation and Sadra publishing house.
Andrey Fesyun, deputy research director at ISAA MSU, Hamid Khadavimogaddam, President of Ibn Sina Foundation, and Dmitry Frolov, head of the Department of Arabic Philology at ISAA MSU, delivered welcoming speeches at the event. They spoke about the success of long-term partnership between the Foundation and the Institute, which had been established before the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation.
Andrey Lukashev, research director of the Foundation delivered a presentation on the activities of Ibn Sina Foundation. The staff of ISAA MSU shared their experience related to cooperation with the Ibn Sina Foundation and the results of the partnership. The speakers included Prof. Vladimir Ivanov (compiler of the Unabridged Persian-Russian Dictionary, author of Persian language textbooks, head of the Iranian Philology Department Professor), Marina Reisner (author of the two-volume textbook “Persian Literature of the 9th-18th centuries”, Professor of the Iranian Philology Department); Vladimir Orlov (co-author of “Algeria at a Crossing of Three Roads”, Professor of the Middle East History Department).
In addition, Andrey Lukashev noted that ISAA MSU has access to the Nur system thanks to the assistance of the Ibn Sina Foundation. The system comprises 28 online platforms with over 65,000 books in Persian and Arabic, 900,000 articles and other tools for teachers and students of the Institute.
At the end of the event the Ibn Sina Foundation donated its books to the library of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
