The Kitap-Bayram International Book Fair was held in Ufa on May 26-28. More than 200 publishing houses from 16 regions of Russia and 6 countries of the world participated in the fair.
The Sadra publishing house together with the Ibn Sina Foundation also took part in this major book event. The books of the Foundation and Sadra presented at the exhibition sparked a great interest among the visitors.
The fair programme included interactive forums, business workshops, cooking shows, meetings with authors, psychologists, recitation of poems with musical accompaniment and many other activities. The visitors came to Ufa from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Iran, and different Russian regions and discovered the wonderful world of books together with residents of Bashkortostan.
A unique edition — a single “golden” copy of the Samarkand Kufic Quran, the most ancient manuscript edition of the sacred Islamic book that has remained intact until today — was brought to Ufa for the opening ceremony of the Fair. The original manuscript is kept in Tashkent.
At the end of the Kitap Bayram Book Fair the Ibn Sina Foundation and Sadra publishing house donated their books to the Ahmet Zaki Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
