William Chittick’s “Sufism” has been recently published in a new cover with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation. In fact, it represents a reprint of the book “Sufism: A Beginner’s Guide” prepared by the Oriental Literature publishing house and published in 2012.
The book written by the famous American Islamic scholar William Chittick tells us about Sufism, a mystical movement in Islam originated in the 8th century. The author provides an overview of the Sufi tradition and demonstrates how the main elements of the Sufi teaching showed themselves in different historical circumstances. The book includes a large number of quotations from primary sources.
“Sufism” by William Chittick is the 14th book of the series “Islam: Classics and Modernity”.
