Film screening about Iranian Art for iranian studies students of the Moscow State Linguistic University

Film screening of two films by Emir Valinejad took place on the 30thof November at the Moscow State Linguistic University. The screening was organized by Ibn Sina Foundation specially for Iranian studies students from the 1st and the 2nd course. 

The students got acquainted with the film “The Dot” dedicated to the art of Islamic calligraphy. It’s a documentary created in 2019 with the assistance of the Foundation; in 2020 the film won the nominee award for “The Best Scientifically Popular Educational Film” of the 21st National award “The Laurel Branch”; it also took the third place in the category “Religion” in the final of the International Film Festival VIVA 2020. In 2023 the film was awarded at the XXXII International Cinema Forum “The Golden Knight” in the nomination “Short Documentaries” for ethical ideals and elevation of human soul.

The screening of the earlier film by Emir Valinejad “Beauty Woven from Mysteries” (2018) dedicated to the world famous archaeological find – Pazyrykian carpet.

Emir Valinejad is an Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter, photographer and film producer. He graduated from the Saint Petersburgh State University of Cinema and Television. Now he studies at the postgraduate school of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography. Emir Valinejad is laureate of international documentary competitions.
