On the 23rd of January an event dedicated to the development of Iranian historiography took place at the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library.
A candidate of historical sciences, an assistant professor of the Institute of Asian and African Countries of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Timur Kazbekovich Koraev gave a lecture “The Origins of Persian Historical Writings: from Samanids to Seljukids (X-XII Centuries). He spoke about emerging and development of chronicles in Persian language in the framework of different historical stages on the territory of Iranian plateau and beyond it. The main librarian of the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library, an Iranianist Daniil Ognev, became a host of this event that was organized and held in the framework of collaboration between the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library and Ibn Sina Foundation.
