On the 17th of May 2024 the leadership of Ibn Sina Foundation visited A.Z. Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Flyur Sharifullinovich Sibaghatov, Head of the Department of Manuscripts and Rare Editions, showed manuscripts of the works by Ali al-Qari al-Hirawi, of the poems by Sufi Allayar, anonymous writings on the Islamic law, lithographic editions of Fani’s poems (Fani is a pseudonym of Alisher Navoi for Persian artworks) and the poem “Shakhnameh” by Firdowsi.
The president of Ibn Sina Foundation Hamid Hadavimoghaddam expressed his readiness to develop cooperation with the Library in the area of research and cataloging the manuscripts from its collection.
The history of A.Z. Validi National Library of the Republic of Bashkortostan takes roots in 1836 when the Assembly of Nobility opened a public library. Nowadays the Library is an important center of Ufa’s cultural life. It includes more than 250 manuscripts in Arabic graphics, more than half of which is in Persian.
