M.A. Alontsev delivered a lecture on the development of Persian language sufism in the XI–XII centuries

On the 23th of July a meeting with Maxim Albertovich Alontsev, a candidate of philological sciences, an assistant professor of the Institute of Classical East and Antiquity of the National Research Institute “The High School of Economics”, an author of the Telegram Channel “Pax Iranica”, took place at the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library.

Maxim Albertovich delivered a lecture “For the sake of common good: the development of Persian language sufism in the XI–XII centuries”. He spoke on the development of Islamic Mysticism in Khorasan in the XI-XII Centuries: the creation of texts in Arabic dedicated to different aspects of Sufi theology. But as the positions of the Persian Language gradually became stronger and stronger, the complex of Sufi literature in Persian was also taking its shapes in the XI-XII Centuries. This the Persian Language became a language of theology, spiritual poetry and sublime culture.

The meeting with M.A. Alontsev was organized and held in the framework of collaboration between the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library and Ibn Sina Foundation.
