On the 28th of September Olga Yastrebova, who is a Candidate of historical sciences, an Assistant Professor of the Oriental Faculty of the Saint Petersburg State University, a research scholar at the Department of the Russian State Library, delivered the lecture “Manuscripts of the Quran at the Russian National Library”. The event was held in the framework of the cycle of lectures entitled “Images and Fabulas of the East in Russian and Western European Graphics from the Collection of Imams Ageev-Shamsutdinov”.
Manuscripts of the Quran are present at many museums and libraries. One of them is the Russian National Library. Its collection consists of more than 250 full and fragmented manuscripts of the Quran. In her lecture Ms. Yastrebova covered this issue.
The event was organized and held in the framework of collaboration between Ibn Sina Foundation and the Museum of the History of Religion.
