Abstract
The book contains the text of the treatise by the outstanding Russian orientalist, historian and translator G.S. Sablukov (1803-1880) «The Comparison between the Muslim Teaching on Divine Names and its Christian Understanding» (1872). This classical work is a critical review of the Russian Islamic Literature in the middle of the XIX century. It also contains information about national religious customs of Ural Volga Muslims in the comparison with Christian teachings. The text of «The Comparison…» has been published for the first time with critical scientific commentaries and the foreword covering the role of this work in the history of Islamic studies.
