On February, the 4th, the remembrance ceremony dedicated to the death anniversary of the translator Hossein Jahangiri Azar took place at the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation. The reknown translator who had worked at the Embassy at the Islamic Republic of Iran was outstanding Embassy employee and a writer who played a key role in the development of Russian Iranian relations. Doctor Jahangiri passed away on February, the 4th, 2024, at the age of 56.
The commemoration ceremony was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali who used to work with Hossein Jahangiri for more than 4 years. He spoke on his extraordinary gift, on his brilliant personal features and on his wholesome devotion to his work.
The following participants also offered their condolences, among them: the Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Alikber Kalabekovich Alikberov, the chief of the Second Department of the Asia of the Russian Foreign Ministry Marsel Ramilevich Gibadullin, the chief of the Russian Iranian Business Counsil Leonid Borisovich Lozhechko, the President of Ibn Sina Foundation Hamid Hadavimoghaddam, the expert on public security and diplomacy of the International Association of Public Diplomacy Emil Akifovich Ashurov and the senior university teacher of the Department of Iranial Philology of the Institute of Asian and African Studies of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University Maxim Gholamkhasanovich Delinad.
The respected guests watched short films by Natalia Zadonskaya dedicated to Dr. Jahangiri and communicated during the dinner in Mr. Jahangiri’s memory.
The event was held by Lana Mejidovna Ravandi-Fadai who is the Director of the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
