On the 20th of August Ibn Sina Foundation participated in organization of the conference “Abu Ali Ibn Sina’ Contribution into the Development of Medical Science: Scientific Works, Theory and Practice”. The event was held at the Moscow House of Nationalities.
Ibn Sina presented it’s two volume book “Healing and Theology” that had been published by “Sadra” in the 2023. The author of its translation is Tawfiq Ibrahim, the Senior Research Scholar of the Centre of Arabic and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He spoke on the important place that the final volume “Theology” occupied among all the 22 volumes of “Healing”. “This book is the best edition of ‘Theology’ by Ibn Sina not because I participated in it’s issuing, but because it’s the latest edition. I aimed to build my work on the achievements of my colleagues who had been working with this text”, – Mr. Ibrahim said. He pointed to a specific feature of this work that included the additional materials from other volumes of “Healing” prepared by Ibn Sina himself.
The Scientific director of the Foundation Andrei Lukashev covered Foundation’s activities at the conference. He spoke on the books issued by the Foundation dedicated to Ibn Sina. He also disclosed Foundation’s strategy: “The henious of Ibn Sina united all the sciences of his era, and now he unites many people’s who consider him their great personality. Likewise Ibn Sina Foundation united various scientific groups that focus on Islamic studies”.
The exhibition of translations of books by Ibn Sina into Russian including “Sadra”’s scientific production was also held at the hall of the Moscow House of Nationalities with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation. These books were granted as a gift to the organizers of the event at the end of the conference.
The conference was organized by the Public Council of the Embassy of the Rebublic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, the Department of National Policy and Regional Relations of Moscow and the Moscoe House of Nationalities with the Assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation. The event achieved a status of an international scientific and practical conference. Public figures, research scholars and doctors from Russia, Iran, Tajikistan and Pakistan participated in the conference.
