I.R. Saitbattalov delivered the lecture “Holiness in everyday life: images of righteous people in the mystical poetry of Muhammad-Ali Chukuri” at the Russian State Library

On the 25th September 2024 the Lecture “Holiness in everyday life: images of righteous people in the mystical poetry of Muhammad-Ali Chukuri” was held at the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library. The Lecture was delivered by Islander Rasulevich Saitbattalov who is a Candidate of Historical Sciences, the senior specialist at the Ufa University of Science and Technologies.

Muhammad-Ali Chukuri (1826-1889) is a Bashkir poet, Sufi and historiographer. He wrote his research works dedicated to the history of Muslims of the Ural-Volga region and it’s outstanding Muslim personalities of his age, as well as clan genealogy, in Turki. The specific features of his artworks is a sublime style, the perfection of forms and the accuracy of content.

The lecture was also dedicated to the role of Chukuri’s heritage in the regional and the Russian Muslim heritage.

The lecture was organized and held in the framework of collaboration between Ibn Sina Foundation and the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library.
