On 15 October Ibn Sina Foundation opened the exhibition “The Sun of Islam” together with Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and the Museum of the Islamic Culture at Kul Sharif Mosque.
Copies of unique lists of the Quran and classical texts of the Islamic culture, particularly manuscripts of “Shakhnameh” by Firdowsi and “Seven Beauties” from “Hamseh” by Nizami were presented at the exhibition. As well, it included precious Tatar manuscripts of the XVIII-XIX centuries, such as “Qyissai Yusuf” by Kul Ghali, “Nahj al-Faradis” by Mahmud al-Sarai, and also the Qurans granted by Ibn Sina Foundation, particularly the texts of Baisonkur and Sultan Ibrahim who are the grandsons of Tamerlane. These manuscripts and texts play an important role in the Islamic culture. “Hamseh” by Nizami is decorated by miniatures by Kamaletdin Behzad, a close friend of Alisher Navoi. The manuscript “Shakhnameh” is provided by the foreword by Baisonkur.
The President of Ibn Sina Foundation Hamid Hadavimoghaddam spoke at the opening ceremony of the exhibition “The Sun of Islam”. He told about the collaboration between the Foundation and Russian, particularly Kazan centers of Islamic studies, and he granted a gift edition of the translation of the meanings of the Quran to the Museum of the Islamic Culture. The scientific director of Ibn Sina Foundation Andrei Alexandrovich Lukashev presented the exhibition in detail. The chief of the Museum of the Islamic Culture and Art Ilnur Ildarovich Nizamiev, the deputy Mufty of the Republic of Tatarstan on the informational politics and the director of the Publishing House “Hudhur” Rishat Ahtyamovich Hamidullin, the deputy director of Lobachevsky Scientific Library of the Kazan (Volga Region) Scientific Library Elmira Ishakovna Amerkhanova also delivered their speeches at the event.
