On the 29 of October the lecture “Muslim monuments of Christian Mennonites of the XIX century in the Central Asia as the example of cultural symbiosis” was held at the Museum and Exhibition Center “St. Petersburg Artist” by Bahtiyar Miraimovich Babajanov who is the senior research scholar of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Mennonites are Christians of the Protestant denomination. At the end of the XIX century they populated the territory of the contemporary Central Asia. Bahtiyar Miraimovich spoke on their contribution into local traditions of architecture as well as on the cultural synthesis represented by the construction and restoration of buildings at the areas where Mennonites used to live.
