“The world of meaning in few words. Mahmud Shabestari’s philosophical views in the context of the times” — a new book by A.A.Lukashev —has been published by the Sadra publishing house with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation.

This book examines the legacy of Mahmoud Shabestari, one of the most celebrated Sufi poets. The author does not limit himself to presenting the views of the medieval thinker; he takes the reader to a journey in the world of the medieval Islamic mysticism, showing the intricacies of the Islamic culture. The book allows to understand in what circumstances Shabestari’s famous poem “The Secret Rose Garden came into existence.

“The world of meaning in few words” precedes the annotated Russian translation of “The Secret Rose Garden” poem, which is expected to see the light in 2020.
